SUBJECT: Engine Speed Hunting on WEX M300C Series

PROBLEM:

There are reports that the 3056E Vista engine installed on these machines has the potential to enter a speed hunting mode, cycling between the speed dial setting, and high idle. This condition only occurs when the engine is started with the speed dial set between positions 2 and 10, and the AEC has been enabled (either at startup, or anytime thereafter). The engine enters the "hunt" mode the first time the engine "exits" the AEC power consumption mode.

RESOLUTION:

New engine software has been introduced, which eliminates this problem. The part number is 231-2399 and is available for download in SIS Web as a Flash File. Before flashing the new software, secure the old settings by making "screen shots" ("Shift" + "Print") and pasting them into a document. Then, after flashing the new software, control the settings and adjust when necessary.
