R1700 (S/N: KT4131-136,138-138,140-144)

Description Of Change: The window glass on certain R1700 machines may have not had sufficient lubricant fitted on installation of the window glass.

Adaptable To: The changes are adaptable to the above serial numbered machines, and effective in production with machines manufactured after the above listed serial numbers.

1. Disconnect the wiper washer hose and remove the wiper blade assembly.

2. Pull on locking strip tag (1) to remove the locking strip.

   Note: Use two people to remove the window.

3. From inside the operator station, exert steady outwards pressure on a corner of the window until the window separates from the operator station frame.

4. Remove the window and the seal strip.

5. Inspect each alternate exit for the following conditions.

   • Window frame rust

   • Missing components

   • Damaged or rusty locking strip tab

   • Damage, cracking, or hardening of the seal strip and locking strip

6. Replace any damaged, cracked, hardened, or missing components. Repair and repaint any rusted window frames.

7. Apply Tooling (B) between the cab window frame and the seal strip. Apply Tooling (B) between the window glass and the seal strip.

8. Install the seal strip, and the window.

9. Install the locking strip and locking strip tag (1). Position locking strip tag (1) as shown in illustration 1, illustration 2, illustration 3, and illustration 4.

   Note: Ensure that locking strip tags (1) are installed on the opposite side of the window to the join in the locking strip.

10. Install the wiper blade assembly and connect the wiper washer hose.

11. Repeat Step 1 through Step 10 for the other alternate exit.
