The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.

Problem

There have been some issues with the exhaust gas valve (NRS) not responding on certain engines. The event codes that are listed in Table 1 may be displayed.

Do not operate or work on this product unless you have read and understood the instruction and warnings in the relevant Operation and Maintenance Manuals and relevant service literature. Failure to follow the instructions or heed the warnings could result in injury or death. Proper care is your responsibility.

Use the electronic service tool to download a Product Status Report (PSR) before performing any troubleshooting.
Perform the troubleshooting for the active event code. Refer to Troubleshooting for more information.
If troubleshooting procedure recommends the exhaust gas valve (NRS) is replaced, refer to Disassembly and Assembly for more information.
Retain the removed NRS valve in a sealable airtight plastic bag to retain any moisture. Retain the NRS valve for 30 days. The valve may be requested for return through the Send It Back (SIB) process.
In every instance, submit the following information through "CPI Feedback" within the Service Information Management System (SIMSi):
- TIB media number M0099994
- CPI Number 426429
- Detailed description of the operating conditions when the issue occurred (altitude of job site, ambient temperature, and details of any components replaced).
- PSR from before performing troubleshooting. Ensure that PDF and XML versions of the PSR are downloaded, with the "Histogram" option selected in the download list.
