Diesel Exhaust Fluid Pump - Remove and Install

Usage:

PM620 FG4

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the diesel exhaust fluid module.

    Note: Refer to Special Instruction, REHS8231, "Removal Procedures for Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Connectors" for the correct removal procedure of hose assemblies (1).

  1. Disconnect harness assemblies (4). Remove clips (3) and clips (5). Remove hose assemblies (1) and hoses (2).

  2. Remove cable straps (6) and position the harness assembly out of the way. Remove bolts (8) and remove cap (7). Remove bolts (10) and manifold assembly (9).

  3. Remove O-ring seals (19) from cap (7).

  4. Remove cable straps (13) and disconnect harness assemblies (12), harness assemblies (14), and harness assemblies (15). Position harness assembly (16) out of the way.

  5. Remove bolts (17), bolts (18), and bolts (20). Remove bracket assembly (19).

  6. Remove bolts (21) and diesel exhaust fluid pump (22).

    Note: Place identification marks on fittings (23) for installation purposes. Fittings (23) are not interchangeable.

  7. Remove fittings (23) and O-ring seals (not shown) from diesel exhaust fluid pump (22).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install diesel exhaust fluid pump (30) in the reverse order of removal.

    1. Tighten bolts (21) to a torque of 19 ± 2 N·m (168 ± 18 lb in).

    2. Tighten bolts (17), (12), and (13) to a torque of 4 ± 0.7 N·m (35 ± 6 lb in).

    3. Tighten the bolt for clips (3) and (5) to a torque of 4 ± 0.7 N·m (35 ± 6 lb in).

    4. Apply Tooling (A) to the O-ring seals inside hose assemblies (1).
