Disc Saw - Clean/Inspect/Replace

Usage:

HFW222 HW2

------ WARNING! ------

Accidental machine starting can cause injury or death to personnel working on the machine.

To avoid accidental machine starting, turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position and remove the key. If the machine is not equipped with a battery disconnect switch, disconnect the battery cables from the battery and tape the battery clamps.

Place a do not operate tag at the battery disconnect switch location to inform personnel that the machine is being worked on.

Stay back until saw blade comes to complete stop after shutdown. May cause serious injury or death.


------ WARNING! ------

Sawhead discharge debris may be increased in rough or hilly terrain. Heavier debris has the potential to travel greater distances. Always be aware of the flight angle of the sawhead discharge.

Avoid cutting when people, domestic animals, building or personal property are located on the discharge side of the saw. Reposition the disc saw as necessary to avoid possible damage caused by the saw discharge.



NOTICE

Do not weld on the disc saw. Do not attempt to repair the disc saw if damaged or there are signs of cracks. Replace the disc saw. Rebalancing of the disc saw must be performed by authorized personnel only.

  1. Remove the saw guard.

  2. Remove any dirt or debris that may have accumulated on the disc saw.

  3. Remove any dirt or debris that may have accumulated in the debris chute. The debris chute is on the lower left-hand disc saw frame.

  4. Lift side cut door to verify that dirt and debris has been removed.

  5. Visually inspect the disc saw for irregularities at every 500 hours of use. Irregularities that are observed the disc saw should be disassembled and further inspected for visible irregularities in removed parts that are not visible on the assembled disc saw.

  6. If the damage is excessive, replace the disc saw.

    Reference: For more information on removing and installing the disc saw, refer to Disassembly and Assembly , "Disc Saw - Remove".

    Note: Bolts for the disc saw that teeth must be replaced after 1000 hours of operation. Do not use bolts that have been damaged or show any defects upon inspection.

  7. Replace the saw guard.
