Engine - Remove and Install

Usage:

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the radiator, hydraulic oil cooler, air cooler, and fuel cooler.

  2. Remove the piston pump (drum propel).

  1. Disconnect harness assemblies (1), (2), and (3).

  2. Remove clamp (6).

  3. Remove nut (5) and disconnect cable assembly (4).

  4. Remove bolt (8) and reposition ground strap (7).

    Personal injury or death may result from failure to adhere to the following procedures.

    Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire.

    Clean up all leaked or spilled fuel. Do not smoke while working on the fuel system.

    Turn the disconnect switch OFF or disconnect the battery when changing fuel filters.


  5. Disconnect hose assemblies (9), (10), and (11).

  6. Loosen clamp (12) and disconnect tube (13).

  7. Disconnect tube (14).

  8. Remove bolt (17).

  9. Disconnect hoses (15) and (16).

  10. Remove bolt (18) and reposition ground strap (19).

  11. Disconnect hose assemblies (20) and (21).

  12. Attach a suitable lifting device to engine (22). The weight of engine (22) is approximately 612 kg (1350 lb).

  13. Remove mounting bolts (23) and engine (22).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install engine (22) in the reverse order of removal.

    1. Tighten nut (5) to a torque of 15 ± 3 N·m (133 ± 27 lb in).
