Left-Hand Joystick .

The left joystick controls the steering of the machine and the gather arms. The left button on the top of the right joystick closes the gather arms. The right button on the top of the right joystick opens the gather arms.

Monitor Display

Illustration 4g06103442

The Monitor Display is in the center console in the cab.

The Monitor Display module consists of a display and ten buttons. The monitor allows individual functions of the machine to be displayed. The monitor allows you to adjust several implement functions. The monitors all the input signals and all the output signals.

The monitor allows the operator to obtain different machine information. The monitor is also used for adjusting the hydraulic settings, calibrating machine controls, testing machine components, and troubleshooting machine systems.

Note: Most of the troubleshooting of the machine system can be performed with the use of the monitor module.

Right-Hand Joystick

Illustration 5g06098295

The right joystick controls the accumulator arms, the lift and the tilt of the felling head, and the temporary differential lock. The left button on the top of the right joystick closes the accumulator arms. The right button on the top of the right joystick opens the accumulator arms.

To temporarily engage the front differential lock, hold the toggle switch on the joystick. To disengage the front differential lock, release the toggle switch.

Engine Start Switch

Illustration 6g06098349

OFF - To insert the engine start switch key and to remove the engine start switch key, the engine start switch must be in the OFF position. To disconnect the power to the electrical circuits in the cab, turn the engine start switch to the OFF position. Also, turn the engine start switch to the OFF position to stop the engine.

ON - To activate the electrical circuits in the cab, turn the engine start switch key clockwise to the ON position.

START - To start the engine, turn the engine start switch clockwise to the START position. When the engine start switch key is released, the engine start switch will return to the ON position.

Note: If the engine fails to start, return the engine start switch to the OFF position, before you attempt to start the engine again.

DELAYED ENGINE SHUTDOWN OVERRIDE - Turn the engine key switch to the DELAYED ENGINE SHUTDOWN OVERRIDE position and hold the engine key switch in that position for 1 second to override delayed engine shutdown (DES). The engine will be shut down immediately.

Note: Shutting down the engine using this method is considered a hard shutdown which disables the DES.

Note: A warning message and/or audible alarm will be initiated and a fault code will be logged for improper engine shutdown if exhaust temperature is above a limit.

Note: Overriding delayed engine shutdown may reduce engine and machine system component life. Use for emergency situations only.

Heating and Air Conditioning Controls

Illustration 7g06097359

The control panel for the heating and air conditioning system are on the right side of the cab.

On Off Switch

On/Off Switch (A) Turns the Air Conditioner on and off.

Temperature Control

Cooling - Turn knob (B) counterclockwise to decrease the temperature in the cab. Turn knob (B) clockwise to increase the temperature in the cab.

Fan Switch

Fan Speed Switch - Fan speed switch (C) controls the speed of the blower fan motor for the heating and air conditioning system. Turn the knob clockwise for more air. Turn the knob counterclockwise for less air.

Foot Brake Control (Service)

Illustration 8g06098279

Service brake pedal (2) is the left pedal on the cab floor.

Depress the service brake pedal to slow the machine ground speed. Use the service brake pedal for normal braking.

Travel Pedals

Illustration 9g06098279

The direction of the machine is determined by travel pedals (3) and (4).

When you depress travel pedal (3), the machine will travel in the REVERSE direction.

When you depress travel pedal (4) the machine will travel in the FORWARD direction.

When both of the travel pedals are released, the engine speed will slow.

Depress the center brake pedal to slow or stop the machine.

Brake Control (Parking)

NOTICE

Do not engage the parking brake while the machine is moving unless the service brake fails. The use of the parking brake as a service brake in regular operation will cause severe damage to the parking brake.

Illustration 10g06098281

Parking Brake - Parking brake switch (5) is on the right side console. Use the parking brake only after the machine is stopped.

Depress switch to activate the parking brake. Parking brake switch indicator (5) will be illuminated when the parking brake is engaged.

Depress switch to turn off the parking brake. Parking brake switch indicator (5) will go off. Release the switch when the parking brake deactivates.

Hydraulic Arming Control

Illustration 11g06098281

The hydraulic arming control (6) is used to turn the machine hydraulic system (implement and steering) on and off.

When the hydraulic arming control is in the LOCKED position, the machine hydraulic system is not on.

When the hydraulic arming control is in the UNLOCKED position, the machine hydraulic system is on.

Throttle Up Speed Control

Illustration 12g06098281

The Throttle Up Speed Control (7) raises the engine rpm.

Depress switch to increase ground speed.

Motor Displacement Switch

Illustration 13g06098281

Depress the switch (10) to select motor displacement. Depress the switch to switch between high and low motor displacement.

Saw Switch

Illustration 14g06098281

Saw switch (9) is on the right side console in the cab.

Depress the saw switch to provide hydraulic pressure to the saw.

Depress the saw switch again to deactivate the hydraulic pressure to the saw.

Note: The saw blade will only operate if the hydraulic lockout control is in the UNLOCKED position.

Note: Disc saw pressure is displayed on the main screen. Display indicates that the hydraulic oil pressure to the disc saw. If the pressure is high, the speed of the disc saw is slow. If the pressure is low, the speed of the disc saw is high. If pressure is high and the saw is slow, you may choose to limit another function such as the travel, the lift or the steer in order for the saw to recover faster.

Throttle Down Speed Control

Illustration 15g06098281

Depress switch to decrease engine rpm.

Rear Differential Lock Control

Illustration 16g06098281

The differential lock switch is on the right side panel.

Press differential lock switch (12) to engage the rear differential lock. When the differential lock is engaged, both wheels on the axle will turn at the same speed.

Note:

Indicator will illuminate on the display when either differential lock is engaged.

Hydraulic Override Control

Illustration 17g06098281

The hydraulic override switch (11) is on the right side panel.

Press hydraulic override switch to enable the "limp" home hydraulic functions. Functions that will be enabled are propel, steer, and raise or lower the arm.
