A New Seal Assembly for the Differential and Bevel Gear Group Is Now Used on Certain 797 Off-Highway Trucks {3256, 3258, 3281, 7555}

Description of Change: The new lip type seal has a PTFE insert with higher speed capability. The new seal prevents oil transfer between the differential and transmission. The new O-Ring seal is more compatible with the heat range encountered during operation of the differential.

Adaptable To: The new 417-6922 Seal As is adaptable and effective in production with the machines that are listed in Table 1. The new 381-8975 O-Ring Seal is adaptable and effective in production with the machines that are listed in Table 2.

New seal assembly (1) replaces the former 151-8641 Lip Type Seal, and new O-Ring seal (2) replaces the former 8D-5096 O-Ring Seal in the 141-3126 Differential and Bevel Gear Gp and the 272-3338 Differential and Bevel Gear Gp .

Bolt (3) and O-Ring seal (4) are part of 149-3105 Wheel and Differential Fastener Group .

Refer to the following manuals to replace the hardware listed in Table 3.
