New Resistance Temperature Sensors are Now Used in the Power Generator Group on Certain Off-Highway Trucks {1439, 4450}

Usage:

793F AC EMD
Off-Highway Truck:
793F AC (S/N: EMD1-UP)
795F AC (S/N: ERM1-UP)
795F (S/N: SNT1-UP)

Description of Change: New resistance temperature sensors are now used in the power generator group on the machines listed above. The new sensors with a one-piece stainless-steel sheath design, crimped and soldered leads provides more robustness. Also the new sensor with gold plated ring terminals has better corrosion resistance and lower contact resistance.

New 390-2201 Temperature Sensor (1) replaces the former 283-6721 Temperature Sensor in the 283-6701 Power Generator Gp .

New 390-2202 Temperature Sensor (4) replaces the former 283-6724 Temperature Sensor in the 283-6701 Power Generator Gp .

Install new 439-1908 Adapter (2) to hold the new temperature sensors in the generator bearing. The new ferrule-type adapter holds off the tip of the temperature sensor from the bearing which reduces wear and vibration.

Connect the new temperature sensors with new 437-2742 Wiring Harness (3) inside the auxiliary box on the power generator group.

The new 390-2201 Temperature Sensor and 390-2202 Temperature Sensor are adaptable to machines and effective in production with machines that are listed in Table 2.
