High Capacity Oil Pan Available {1302}

Usage:

3406 ( 75Z ),
3406B ( 2WB, 3SF, 4RG ) Generator Set Engines;
3406B ( 4TB ) Marine Engines

Description of Change: The high capacity oil pan will hold 76 liters (80.6 quarts) while the standard oil pan capacity is 38 liters (40.3 quarts). This increase in capacity will provide additional lubrication volume for use where lesser quality oils and/or high sulfur fuel is used. Some high horsepower applications currently cannot reach the recommended 250 hour oil change interval due to inferior quality oil and/or high sulfur fuel. Also, in normal applications, the oil change interval can be extended to 500 hours when using API-CF4 oil and low sulfur fuel. A different oil level gage group is required when using the high capacity oil pan.

Adaptable To: The 1W9113 Oil Pan (high capacity) can be used as a direct replacement for standard oil pan in those applications where space allows. The 1W9113 Oil Pan is approximately the same depth as the standard oil pan. However, the high capacity oil pan utilizes an expanded sump area. If the high capacity oil pan is installed, either the 4W1895 Gage Assembly (right side) or 7W3602 Gage Assembly (left side) must be used to replace the standard gage assembly. A new 4N3661 Gasket will be required when installing the new high capacity oil pan.
