In order to better serve the customer, Caterpillar has changed the content and size of the Truck Engine Operation and Maintenance Manuals. These manuals are supplied with the engines to the original equipment manufacturers (OEM). Continued improvements and advancements in product design made the new manuals necessary. The new manuals include the latest recommended maintenance and service information. The new manuals provide details on new oil change intervals and preventive maintenance recommendations that can reduce the operating cost to the end user by as much as 30 percent. The size of the new Operation And Maintenance Manuals has be reduced from 8 1/2 by 11 inches, to 5 1/2 by 8 1/2 inches. This will allow the manual to better fit into truck glove compartments.
The new 3406 Operation And Maintenance Manual will be for BOTH electronic and mechanical truck engines.
