Description of Change: A new oil pump and associated components are available as a service replacement for the former oil pump. The former oil pump is no longer available.
Adaptable To: The former 5N2686 Oil Pump, used on the above marine transmissions, is no longer available. In those applications, the components identified in Chart A and Illustration 1 can be used as a servicereplacement for the former oil pump.

Chart B lists the components that must be removed from 7251 Marine Transmissions 74E2068-2399 and 7261 Marine Transmissions 89B388-722.
Chart C lists the components that must be removed from 7251 Marine Transmissions 74E2400-2413 and 7261 Marine Transmissions 89B723-763.
Before the new components can be installed on 7251 Marine Transmissions 74E2068-2413 and 7261 Marine Transmissions 89B388-763, some material must be removed from the 1N8587 Manifold as shown in Illustration 2.

Before the new components can be installed on 7251 Marine Transmissions 74E2068-2399 and 7261 Marine Transmissions 89B388-7722, two tapped holes must be added to the 1N8587 Manifold as shown in Illustration 3.
