Description of Change: A new piston pin retainer is used. When compared to the former retainer, the new retainer:
- Provides improved flatness.
- Has increased groove contact area.
- Can be installed with either side against the pin.
- Is more resistant to tip breakage.
- Does not require special tools for removal or installation.
- Has increased groove contact area.
New 7E5665 Piston Pin Retainer (1). Former 8N7295 Piston Pin Retainer (2).
Adaptable To: The new 7E5665 Piston Pin Retainer is a direct replacement for the former 8N7295 Piston Pin Retainer. It is recommended that the former retainers be replaced with new retainers whenever the former retainers are removed.
Install the new retainer with the opening in a vertical position, either up or down.
