Description of Change: A new locking bolt is used in the turbocharger cartridge groups. The new bolt provides increased retention between the backplate and housing assembly.
Adaptable To: The new 2J3118 Locking Bolt replaces the former 7W0468 Lock Plate and 1S7116 Bolt (both canceled). However, the 1S7116 Bolt may be reused if 9S3263 Thread Lock Compound is used. This change affects all TV91, TL91, TW91, TV92, TL92, and TW92 Cartridges used in the 7C2860, 7E0479, 7E9491, 4W1225, 4W1239, 4W4960, 4W9879, 7W1105, 7W2301, 7W3570, and 9Y1494 Cartridge Groups. This change is also adaptable to first production for all cartridges using the former 7W0468 Lock Plate. See the illustration for the typical location of the new bolt.
NOTE: The 4W4960, 7W2301, and 9Y1494 Cartridge Groups have been canceled and replaced by the 7E9491 Cartridge Group.
