Obsolete Capacitor In VR1 Voltage Regulators{4467}

Usage:

All SR 4 Generators With 4W5269 And 4W5270 Voltage Regulators

Reference: Service Manual, SENR7968-03, Page 17, SR 4 Generator.

The 3N2049 Capacitor Assembly has become obsolete and can no longer be replaced for SR 4 Generators with line to neutral power for excitation and regulation. It has been determined that removal of this capacitor assembly will not affect the performance of the regulator. If the capacitor assembly fails and requires replacement, the following action should be taken.

1. Remove capacitor (C3) from the regulator assembly.

2. Cut wire No. 26 that connects capacitor (C3) and resistor (R5) at the resistor. Be careful not to cut the resistor lead. See reference for location of components.
