Rear Chassis Support - Remove and Install
Removal Procedure

Start By:
- Remove the engine enclosure.

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
- Drain the coolant from the cooling system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Extended Life Coolant - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.
- Drain the hydraulic fluid. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic Fluid - Change" or for the correct draining and filling procedures.
- Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.
- Disconnect hose assembly (1), hose (2), and hose assembly (3).

- Disconnect hose (4) and hose (5) .

- Remove bolt (8) and clip (6). Remove bolt (9) and clip (7). Remove tube assembly (10) and tube assembly (11) .

- Remove hose (12) from mounting hardware. Remove bolt (13) .

- Disconnect hose assemblies (14), (15), and (16) .

- Remove bolts (17) and (18) .

- Disconnect hose assemblies (19), (22), and (23). Disconnect hoses (20) and (21) .

- Disconnect hose assemblies (24) and (25). Disconnect union (26 ). Remove bolt (27) .

- Remove bolts (28), (30), and (32). Disconnect fitting (29). Disconnect harness assembly (31) .

- Disconnect hose assembly (33). Remove bolts (34), (35), and (36) .

- Disconnect harness assemblies (37) and (38). Remove mounting hardware from harness assemblies.

- Attach Tooling (A), Tooling (B), and a suitable lifting device to rear chassis support (39). The weight of rear chassis support (39) is approximately 340 kg (750 lb). Remove bolts (40) and rear chassis support (39) .

Installation Procedure
- Install rear chassis support (39) in the reverse order of removal.
