Introduction

The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.

Problem

Field service reports indicate that 9S-1366 Bolts on the brake group may become loose or fall out.

Solution

Monitor each brake group at every regular machine service for loose or missing 9S-1366 Bolts (1). In the event of any loose or missing 9S-1366 Bolts (1) follow the instruction below.

• Remove all 9S-1366 Bolts (1), one bolt at a time. Clean each bolt and bolt hole. Install with correct Loctite adhesive and torque to specification. Refer to RENR8558, for installation procedure and specifications.

• Replace any loose or missing 9S-1366 Bolts (1) with a new 9S-1366 Bolt.

• Submit a Dealer Solution Network (DSN) ticket quoting CPI number 276302

• Request a Tier 1 representative, transfer your ticket to an available Tier 2 representative for Caterpillar Underground Mining, Base Machine.
