Introduction
Before the Power Train Electronic Control Module (ECM) is replaced, ensure that replacement is necessary. The Power Train ECM is seldom the cause of a diagnostic code. Always check that power is available to the Power Train ECM. Battery voltage is required from connector contacts 1, 39, 46 and 47 to ground connector contacts 13, 23, 26, 57 and 70 of the harness connector J1 for the Power Train ECM.
Procedure
- Move the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the OFF position.
- Remove two screws (6) from connector J1 (4) and connector J2 (5). Disconnect harness (2) from Power Train ECM (1) .
