Personal injury or death can result from machine movement. Place blocks in front of and behind the wheels to make sure the machine does not move while the parking brakes are disengaged.

Introduction

This procedure is used to check and adjust the STIC Lockout Control Limit Switch.

Required Tools

Test Preparation

Note: Permit only one operator on the machine. Keep all other personnel away from the machine or in the operators sight.

1. Move the machine to a smooth, level location that is away from operating machines and personnel.

2. Engage the parking brake.

3. Install the steering frame lock.

   ReferenceRefer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Steering Frame Lock" for the machine being serviced.

4. Place blocks behind the wheels and in front of the wheels.

(1) Steering and transmission lock lever (2) Transmission direction control

1. Move transmission direction control (2) to the NEUTRAL position. Move steering and transmission lock lever (1) to the LOCKED position.

2. Raise the work tool clear of the ground.

3. Disengage the parking brake.

4. With steering and transmission lock lever (1) in the LOCKED position, move transmission direction control (2) to the FORWARD position or the REVERSE position. Should the transmission engage either direction, refer to "Adjustment Procedure ".

5. If the transmission does not engage either direction, adjustments are correct. Engage the parking brake, lower the work tool to the ground and stop the engine.

Adjustment Procedure

1. Remove the cover from the steering and transmission lock assembly.

2. Adjust nut (3) and nut (4) until the measurement for (B) is reached. Use Tooling (G) to check the measurement.

   ReferenceRefer to table 1 for required measurement.

3. Check the STIC lockout control limit switch. Refer to "Test Procedure".

4. Install the cover to the steering and transmission lock assembly.
