A laser receiver that is mounted on a fixed mast above the box blade is used to detect the laser beam. During the grade setup, the cutting edge of the box blade is placed at the desired finish elevation. Then, the laser receiver is adjusted in order to detect the laser plane. While the system is in automatic operation, as the box blade moves above or below finish grade elevation, the information that is received by the AccuGrade System is sent to the electrohydraulic system which automatically adjusts the elevation of the box blade.
Electronic Control Module
The electronic control module uses information from the laser receiver and the display to perform the following tasks:
- Execute the AccuGrade logic.
- Control the position of the blade.
- Communicate the information to the operator with the AMICS display.
