There are bearings at the ends of the extendable stick housings. These bearings help to guide the extendable portion of the stick sideways.

The vertical side movement of the extendable stick should be 1 ± .5 mm (.04 ± .02 inch) when the extendable stick is fully extended.

Remove the bearing covers, if necessary. Inspect the bearings for excessive wear or for damage. Replace the bearings, if necessary.

If the bearings should require adjustment, perform one of the following procedures.

1. Turn the bearing cap clockwise in order to reduce the amount of end play of the bearing.

2. Turn the bearing cap counterclockwise in order to increase the amount of end play of the bearing.
