Wheel Lean Arm and Axle Bushings - Install

Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

  1. Lower the temperature of bearing (12).

  2. Use Tooling (B) in order to install bearing (12) into axle (10).

  3. Install lip seal (11).

  4. Use Tooling (A) in order to install bearings (9) into wheel lean arm (6).

  5. Attach a suitable lifting device to wheel lean arm (6). The weight of wheel lean arm (6) is approximately 91 kg (200 lb).

  6. Position wheel lean arm (6) and install pin (8).

  7. Install bolt (7).

  8. Position wheel lean cylinder (1) and install pin (5).

  9. Remove the suitable lifting device from wheel lean arm (6).

  10. Attach a suitable lifting device to wheel lean bar (2). The weight of wheel lean bar (2) is approximately 55 kg (122 lb).

  11. Position wheel lean bar (2).

  12. Install bolt (4) and retainer (3) in order to secure pin (5). Repeat this step for the opposite side of pin (5).

  13. Remove the suitable blocking from wheel lean cylinder (1).

End By:

  1. Install the wheel drive. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Wheel Drive - Install".
