This document describes the following procedures:
- Configuring ComManager
- Configuring MachineManager
- Using MachineManager
MachineManager is a piece of software that is used on a computer. The application is used to communicate with Drills and Draglines that are equipped with AQUILA computers that are on the machine.
ComManager is used for server operations. ComManager does not need an interface.
When MachineManager is used to connect to ComManager, the following tasks can be performed on the machines:
- View the status of the machines.
- View the current map that is on the machines.
- Receive productivity data.
- Change the current operator on the machine.
- Change delay codes on the machine.
- Change production codes on the machine.
- Change lists.
- Update lists.
MachineManager and ComManager operate together. MachineManager is the "front end" user interface. ComManager is responsible for performing all the communication with the in-pit machines.
The following information is sent from ComManager:
- Maps
- "Work code" lists
- "Operator" lists
The following information is received through ComManager:
- Maps
- Productivity files
- "Machine status" information
The following items should be observed:
- Caterpillar recommends installing the MachineManager and ComManager applications on the same computer.
- The applications can be on separate computers if the computers are communicating over the same TCP/IP network.
- Both of the applications must be able to access the "Aquila root" folder.
- Both of the applications must be given read/write access to the "Aquila root" folder.
- ComManager is the only application that requires communication with the in-pit machines.
