MachineManager Navigation Bar
The MachineManager navigation bar contains folders for each type of machine that is configured. The "Drills" folder of the navigation bar appears when ComManager is configured with an in-pit drill.

All of the items that are related to the drill will appear under the "Drills" folder within separate folders.
These folders include the following:
- "Drill <drill name>"
- "Pattern maps"
- "Mine map"
- "Fleet Configuration"
"Drills" Folder
The "Drills" folder contains a folder for each drill. The folders are specified in the following format:
Drill <drill name>
These folders are represented with a small icon of a drill. This icon is followed by the name that is assigned to the drill.
The "Current map" and the "Diagnostics" tool can be accessed directly beneath the drill icons. Double click on the icon in order to open one of these items.
"Pattern maps" Folder
The "Pattern maps" folder contains all of the "pattern map" files. Double click any of the maps in this folder in order to open the map.
These files are defined in the "File and Folder Settings". The "File and Folder Settings" is described in the Systems Operation, "Configuration (MachineManager)" section of this manual.
"Mine" Map
The "Mine" map is a merge of all of the available "Current maps" for each of the drills.
"Fleet configuration" Folder
The "Fleet configuration" folder contains the location of the configuration files for the entire fleet of drills.
The configuration files include the following:
- "Operator list"
- "Delay code list"
- "Production code list"
- "Map reader scope"
Any of these configuration files can be sent to any drill.
In order to send a file to a drill, perform the following steps:
- Double click on one of these icons in order to open the configuration file.
- Right click on the file and drag the file to the top of the desired drill.
- Release the mouse button in order to drop the file onto the drill. A menu opens showing a list of options.
- Select "Copy here" from the list.
Viewing the Current Map
In order to view the current map on a drill, double click the "Current Map" icon. This icon is located under the icon for the drill. A "map" window will open. This window is a duplicate window of the "pattern map" window.
Viewing Diagnostics for the Machine
In order to view the diagnostics for a machine, double click the "Diagnostics" icon of the current drill.

The "Machine diagnostics" window appears. The window contains the following details about the drill:
- General information
- Status
- Coordinates
- GPS information
- Available space
General Information
"Machine Name" - This field identifies the machine that is displayed in the "Machine diagnostics" window.
"Last updated" - This field displays the time of the last update to the diagnostics.
"Current operator" - This field identifies the name of the operator that is currently logged into the machine.
"Delay" - This field specifies the delay that is currently active on the machine.
"Production" - This field specifies the "production code" that is currently active on the machine.
Status
"Is it in service?" - This field identifies the status of the drill.
"Is it reachable?" - This field is used to validate communications with the drill.
This field will indicate "No" in the following situations:
- There is a problem with the infrastructure of the radio.
- There is a problem with the onboard system.
- The onboard system is turned off.
Coordinates
"Drill coordinates" - These fields provide information for the location of the drill.
The fields include the following items:
- "Easting"
- "Northing"
- "Elevation"
- "Heading"
GPS Information
The "GPS1 information" section and the "GPS2 information" section provide status information for the GPS.
"Svc" - This field identifies the number of satellites that can be seen by the GPS.
"Mode" - This field identifies the current mode of the GPS.
"PDOP" - The "PDOP" (Position dilution of precision) field displays a value that represents the quality of the position. The quality is based on the geometry of the satellites. A lower PDOP value provides better accuracy.
Available Space
"Disk space usage" - This field identifies the amount of space that remains on the onboard disk.
Pattern Maps
Opening a Pattern Map
Any map that has been placed into the "DrillPattern" folder will appear under the "Pattern maps" folder. The format of these maps must be compatible with the "Map reader scope" that is stored in the "Drill_FleetConfiguration" folder for the drill.
In order to open a map, perform the following steps:
- Right click on a file. The menu for the file appears:
- Open the menu. Use one of the following methods:
- Click "Open" in the menu.
- Double click on the name of the map.
The "Pattern map" window that is shown in Illustration 4 will open in the "Window Area" of the MachineManager screen.
- Click "Open" in the menu.

Toolbar
A toolbar (1) is located at the top of the "Pattern map" window. Refer to Illustration 4. Use the buttons on this toolbar to work with the maps.
The tool bar includes the following buttons:

(5) " Hide/show machines" - This button is used in order to hide the drills that are displayed on the map. This button is also used in order to show any drill that is hidden.
(6) " Zoom extents" - This button is used in order to make the entire map visible in the current "Pattern Map" window.
(7) "Undo" - This button is used to cancel the last action. This only pertains to the last action.
(8) "Zoom window" - This button is used in order to zoom in on a defined window. While the "Zoom window" tool is selected, hold the left mouse button down and move the mouse in order to draw a box on the screen. The window will zoom in to the size of the box when the left mouse button is released.
(9) "Zoom in" - This button is used in order to zoom in on the map. While the "Zoom in" tool is selected, click on the map in order to zoom in around the current location of the mouse pointer.
(10) "Zoom out" - This button is used in order to zoom out on the map. While the "Zoom out" tool is selected, click on the map in order to zoom out around the current location of the mouse pointer.

(11) "Pan" - This button is used in order to pan the map. While the "Pan" tool is selected, hold the left mouse button down and move the mouse in order to move the map in the window.
(12) "Rotate" - This button is used in order to rotate the map. While the "Rotate" tool is selected, hold the left mouse button down and move the mouse in order to rotate the map in the window.
(13) "Select holes" - This button is used in order to select holes. Holes can be selected by clicking on the holes or by dragging a box around the holes.
(14) "Select artifacts" - This button is used in order to select artifacts. Artifacts include line nodes and bootleg holes. In order to select an artifact, click on the artifact or else drag a box around the artifact.
(15) "Draw artifacts" - When this button is selected, click the left mouse button. You can then draw a line or you can place a bootleg. Click the right mouse button in order to stop drawing the line.
(16) " Zoom on drills" - This button is used in order to zoom in on a specific drill.
Location of Map
The map (2) is displayed in the middle of the "Pattern map" window. Refer to Illustration 4.
Coordinates
The fields for the coordinates (3) are located to the right of the toolbar. Refer to Illustration 4. These fields provide the current coordinates of the cursor.

Buttons for performing actions
The buttons (4) that are used with the file are located at the bottom of the "Pattern map" window. Refer to Illustration 4.

The buttons include the following:
(19) "Save as ..." - Save the map with a new name.
(20) "Save" - Save the map.
(21) "Close" - Close the Map folder.
Editing Holes in a Pattern Map
Selecting a Hole

- Click "Select holes" (13). A list of holes will be displayed below the Map window. Refer to Illustration 10.
The list includes the following information about the hole:
- "Name"
- "Pattern"
- "Blast"
- "Northing"
- "Name"
- Selected holes are identified on the map by a yellow circle. The circle surrounds each hole that is selected. Each hole that is selected will be identified by a check mark in the list.
Use one of the following methods to change the status of a hole.
- Click on the check box that is adjacent to the hole.
- Click on a hole in the map.
- Hold down the left mouse button and draw a box around a group of holes. This action will change the status of all of the holes that are in the box. This method is shown in Illustration 10.
- Click on the check box that is adjacent to the hole.

Manipulating a Hole
Right click on the map in order to access a menu that will provide options which can be used to manipulate the selected holes.

The menu provides the following options:
"Edit hole" - Set specific features for the selected holes.
"Adjust hole" - Add a value or subtract a value from the current position of the hole.
"Select all" - Select all of the holes on the map.
"Unselect all" - Unselect all of the selected holes on the map.
"Delete hole" - Delete the selected hole.
"Create hole" - Create a new hole by specifying the coordinates for the hole.
"Convert to bootleg" - Convert the selected hole into a bootleg hole. Converting these holes will discard all of the information that is associated with the hole. Note that the position of the hole will remain.
Editing Artifacts in a Pattern Map
- Click the "Select Artifacts" button (14) on the toolbar. A list of available artifacts appears.

- Select the artifact by using one of the following methods:
- Click on a node of the artifact.
- Draw a box around a group of artifacts.
The artifacts will be identified by a yellow circle. The circle appears around each artifact.
- Click on a node of the artifact.

- Right click at any location on the map. A popup menu appears. The menu lists the options that can be used to modify the artifact.
Drawing Artifacts in a "Pattern " Map
Borders and bootleg holes are classified as "Artifacts". The "Draw Artifacts" tool is used to draw Artifacts.

When the "Draw Artifacts" button (15) is selected, the mouse becomes a cross hair. A list of available artifact types appears in a list below the Map window.
Three types of artifacts can be drawn:
- Lines
- Polygons
- Bootleg holes
Create a Line or a Polygon
- Select an artifact that is identified as either a "Line node" or as a "Polygon node" from the "Type" column.
- Left click the map at the location for the first node of the artifact.

- Continue to left click the map at each location for a new node of the artifact.
- Right click any location on the map in order to stop drawing.
Create a Bootleg Hole
- Select an artifact that is identified as a "Bootleg hole" from the "Type" column.
- Left click any spot on the map in order to place the artifact in that location.
Saving the Work that is Performed on a Pattern Map

- Save your work. Use one of the following methods:
- Select "Save as..." (19). The map can be saved to a new name into the "Drill Pattern" folder.
- Select "Save" (20). Your changes are saved for the current map.
- Select "Save as..." (19). The map can be saved to a new name into the "Drill Pattern" folder.
- Select "Close" (21). The current map closes.
"Mine" Maps
"Mine" maps are used in order to combine the "Current map" files from several drills into a single file.
- Double click on the icon for the map. A dialog appears. This dialog will prompt the user to enter the drills which will be used in order to generate the map.
- Select the drills that will be used for the map.
- Click the "Show map" button. A map will appear. This map is very similar in appearance to the "Current map" on a drill.
- Click the "Save as..." button if you want to modify the map.
- Save the map under a new name.
- Modify the artifacts. Use the following steps:
- Select a "Bootleg hole" artifact from the "Type" list in order to draw a bootleg hole.
- Left click a location on the map in order to place a bootleg hole at that location on the map.
Sending a Map to a Drill
- Right click on any map. A menu appears. The menu shows all of the available options.
- Select the "Send to machine(s)..." option. A dialog box opens in order to allow the selection of a machine.

- Specify the drills that will receive the map.
- Click "Send". A dialog box for each machine appears.
- Select the desired option from each of the dialog boxes.
"Append" - Use this option in order to supplement the current map.
"Replace" - Use this option in order to replace the current map.

Configuration of the Fleet
The following configuration files for the drill are located under the "fleet configuration" folder:
- "Operator list"
- "Delay code list"
- "Production code list"
- "Map reader scope"
These files can be edited or the files can be sent to a machine.
- In order to edit any of these files, double click on the icon for the file.
- In order to send one of these files to a drill, perform the following actions:
- Right click on any configuration file. A menu appears. The menu shows all of the available options.
- Select the "Send to machine(s)..." option. A dialog box opens in order to allow the selection of a machine.
- Specify the drills that will receive the file.
- Click "Send". A dialog box for each machine appears.
Other Operations for the Drill
- Right click on the icon for a drill. A menu of tasks for the drill appears. The menu lists the options for the tasks.
- Select an option. The following options are available:

"Get the current map and status on machine" - Request the current diagnostic information from the machine. This option will request the current map.
"Get quick status of machine" - Request the current diagnostic information from the machine. This option will not ask for the current map.
"Get production files from machine" - The following actions are requested:
- Compress the files that are used on the machine.
- Download the files from the machine.
- Delete the files from the machine.
Note: The "Get production files from machine" option will have no effect on the automated scheduled download of reports.
"Remove holes on drill" - Delete the holes from the onboard map. The option has no effect on the information for production that is coming from the drill.
"Change current operator" - Change the current operator on the drill. This option will only be listed if the option is enabled in the "Drill and Dragline configuration" window.
"Change delay/production code" - Change the current "delay/production" code of the drill. This option will only be listed if the option is enabled in the "Drill and Dragline configuration" window.
"Set machine out of service" - Set a machine out of service. All communication to any machine that is set out of service stops. This includes scheduled "production downloads" and scheduled "machine status updates".
