- "Drill and dragline configuration"
"Communications server setup" Dialog
This dialog contains the settings that are used in order to specify the TCP/IP address that is used by ComManager for server operations.
The following Communication server settings are configured in this dialog:
- Server Address
- Server Port
Illustration 6 | g01345934 |
(6) "Server address:" field (7) "Server port:" field |
(6) "Server Address" - Specify the IP address that is used by ComManager for server operations. Obtain the address from the System Administrator of the computer. The default address "127.0.0.1" must be used if the ComManager program and the MachineManager program are located on the same computer.
(7) "Server Port" - Specify the TCP/IP port that is used by the ComManager program to listen for incoming connections. The default setting is 11235. Note that this setting may have been changed in the ComManager settings.
"File and folder settings" Dialog
This dialog contains the folders that are listed in Illustration 7.
Illustration 7 | g01345938 |
(8) "Aquila root folder:" field (9) "Drill pattern folder" field (10) "Dragline cut folder" field |
(8) "Aquila root folder:" - .The Aquila root folder specifies the base path that is used for storing in-pit configuration data and in-pit machine data.
ComManager uses this folder for storing the following information for the in-pit machines:
- "Productivity" files
- Status of the machines
- Maps of the machines
The MachineManager program and the ComManager program must be configured to use the same Aquila root folder.
Two examples for specifying the name of the folder follow:
- C:\Aquila Root
- C:\Aquila Data
Note: The Aquila root folder can be a drive on the network. The MachineManager program must have sufficient privileges in order to access this folder over a network. The privileges are required in order to perform the following: and
- Send a file.
- Receive a file.
(9) "Drill pattern folder" - This field contains the location for the "pattern" maps. These maps must be generated in a specific format. The format must be compatible with the onboard Aquila drill computers. These maps are sent to the in-pit drills. No requirements are set for the location of this folder.
(10) "Dragline cut folder" - This field contains the location for the "dragline cut" maps. These maps must be generated in a specific format. The format must be compatible with the onboard Aquila draglinel computers. These maps are sent to the in-pit draglines. No requirements are set for the location of this folder.
"Map display setup" Dialog
Illustration 8 | g01345945 |
(11) "Map Units" drop-down menu (12) "Show North Arrow" check box (13) "Hole text size" field |
Specify the following settings in the "Map display setup" dialog.
(11) "Map Units" - This drop-down menu is used in order to select the units that will be displayed on the map.
(12) "Show North Arrow" - This check box is selected in order to show an arrow on the map which points north. This selection is recommended since the maps may rotate during operations.
(13) "Hole text size" - This field indicates the size in meters or the size in feet (depending on the "Map Units") of the text that accompanies the holes.
"Drill and dragline configuration" Dialog
This dialog lists the items that are used to configure the MachineManager behavior with respect to the drills and the draglines.

(14) "Enable drill support" check box (15) "Drills support remote operator/production code change" check box (16) "Drills are touchscreen (Version 2 hardware)" check box (17) "Enable dragline support" check box (18) "Draglines support remote operator/production code change" check box |
(14) "Enable drill support" - If this box is checked, then MachineManager will still allow you to access the "pattern map" folder for the Drill. This is true even when the machine is not connected to the ComManager server.
(15) "Drills support remote operator/production code change" - Check this box in order to enable the option on the Machine menus. This option will allow a remote change to the current operator or to the "production/delay" code.
(16) "Drills are touchscreen (Version 2 hardware)" - Check this box if the onboard machines contain touchscreen displays. A majority of the in-pit computers that are in the field utilize the touchscreen displays.
(17) "Enable dragline support" - If this box is checked, then MachineManager will allow the user to access the "cut map" folder of the Dragline. This is true even when the machine is not connected to the ComManager server.
(18) "Draglines support remote operator/production code change" - Check this box in order to enable the option on the "Machine" menus. This option allows you to perform a remote change to the current operator or to the "production/delay" code.
"Navigation" Area
Illustration 10 | g01401277 |

Actions that can be performed include the following tasks:
- Open maps.
- Send maps.
- Manually download information about the production of the machine.
- Request the current status of the machine.
- Change the operator that is currently logged into the machine.
