Caterpillar Dealer Service Tools has released two new track presses: the Cat 300 Ton Track Press and the Cat 375 Ton Track Press. Both track presses will disassemble the track for pin and bushing turns. The presses will then assemble the track after pin and bushing turns.

    Features and Benefits

    • A 53 kN (12000 lb) winch with a pendant control is standard on both models for loading the track onto the conveyor.

    • Two 170-2503 Connecting Bar As feature T slots and vertical adjustment knobs for easy mounting of the contact tooling. The knobs allow precise, vertical and horizontal positioning of the tooling. The result is fast setup and the elimination of shims for the saddle.

    • Two work lights provide excellent illumination for the technician.

    • A hold down shoe that is hydraulically activated, saddle bolts, and wedge bars are included with both models.

    • Each track press includes a 3 m (10 ft) track indexers. The indexer is advanced by a manually operated hydraulic valve.

    • Increased ram speeds in both presses reduce the cycle times.

    • Both track presses have individual control dials and pressure gauges for each main hydraulic ram that can be controlled independently. The gauges indicate in tons. There is no need for the technician to convert the readings.

    • Twin, 436 L (115 US gal)hydraulic tanks promote cool, efficient operation, and minimize aeration and cylinder drift.

    • An optional, PLC controlled automatic indexing feature with a digital encoder that reads the distance the track moves is available for the Cat 375 Ton Track Press. This option allows single push button control that sequentially activates the following items: the hold down shoe, the digital encoder, the raise and lower functions for the indexing table and the advance and retract functions for track indexing for the next operation.

    • The Cat 300 Ton Track Press and the Cat 375 Ton Track Press are designed and built exclusively through Dealer Service Tools. These tools employ the same engineering and manufacturing knowledge that produces the track.

    • Cat part numbered components (hoses, valve and pumps) are used when possible in the track presses. Using Cat part numbered components provides fast, dependable parts service.

    • The track presses are available in 380 volt, 460 volt, and 575 volt, and in 50 Hz or 60 Hz configurations.

    • Both track presses are European Union compliant.

    • Both track presses are equipped with doors that activate limit switches. The ram will not activate unless the doors are closed.

The saddles and the contact tools for each track pitch are available separately from Dealer Service Tools. Conversion groups for mounting contact tooling for competitive undercarriage are also available separately.
