Accidental machine starting can cause injury or death to personnel working on the machine. To avoid accidental machine starting, turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position and remove the key. If the machine is not equipped with a battery disconnect switch, disconnect the battery cables from the battery and tape the battery clamps. Place a do not operate tag at the battery disconnect switch location to inform personnel that the machine is being worked on. |
- Engage the parking brake. Place wooden wedges in front of the drum and behind the drum.

- Use a suitable lifting device to raise the rear of the machine until the tires are just off the floor. The weight of the machine at the axle is approximately 2500 kg (5500 lb). Install Tooling (A) under the axle of the machine.
- Attach a suitable lifting device to the wheel and tire (1). Remove lug nuts (2) and remove the wheel and tire (1) from the machine. The weight of the wheel and tire (1) is approximately 100 kg (220 lb).

Installation Procedure

- Use a suitable lifting device in order to position the wheel and tire (1) on the axle. The weight of the wheel and tire (1) is approximately 100 kg (220 lb). Install lug nuts (2). Tighten the lug nuts to a torque of 470 ± 50 N·m (345 ± 37 lb ft).

- Use a suitable lifting device to raise the rear of the machine until the tires are just off the floor. The weight of the machine at the axle is approximately 2500 kg (5500 lb). Remove Tooling (A) .

- Remove the wooden wedges from both sides of the drum.
