Lift Cylinder - Disassemble

Usage:

Disassembly Procedure

Start By:

a. Remove the lift cylinder. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Lift Cylinder - Remove" for the machine that is being serviced.

NOTE: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

1. Put the lift cylinder in position on Tooling (A). The weight of the lift cylinder is 350 kg (772 lb).

2. Remove eight bolts (12) and the washers that hold head (11) to cylinder body (7).

3. Use Tooling (A) to slide the rod and piston assembly out of cylinder body (7).

4. Remove wear ring (4) and seal assembly (5) from piston (6).

5. Use Tooling (B) to remove nut (3). Remove piston (6) from rod assembly (8).

6. Slide cylinder body (7) onto rod assembly (8). Install bolts (12) that hold head (11) to cylinder body (7). Tighten the bolts finger tight.

7. Remove head (11) and cylinder body (7) from rod assembly (8) as a unit.

8. Remove bolts (12) and head (11) from cylinder body (7).

9. Remove four bolts (13) and the washers from head (11). Remove O-ring seal (9), backup ring (10), wear ring (14), seal assembly (15), U-cup seal (16) and lip seal (17) from head (11).

10. Remove two lip seals (1) from cylinder body (7).

11. Use Tooling (C) to remove bearing (2) from cylinder body (7).
