  1. Click on the "Browse" icon in order to find correct firmware file.

When the "Browse" button is clicked, the window that is shown in illustration 2 is shown.

Clicking on the "Advanced" icon will cause the window that is indicated in Illustration 3.

  1. Click on the "Program" icon.

Note: Click "Exit" in order to cancel an update when "Program" has been selected. The programming will not be written to the flash and the processor will be restarted.

The following list gives descriptions of some of the icons.

"Program" - "Program" initiates the download of the firmware to the UPS.

"Reload Device" - "Reload Device" will reset the device that is being programmed.

"Browse" - "Browse" allows the user to select the proper firmware file from a disk.

"Exit" - "Exit" will cancel a program that is in progress, but "Exit" needs to be selected before the target file has been written to flash memory. If "Exit" is selected during the read back verification, "Exit" will only cancel the verification.

"Advanced" - "Advanced" opens a dialog box with several custom settings.

"Enter optional starting address:" - "Enter optional starting address:" is only available on byte-wide flash. This is an offset into flash memory. Do not use the "Enter optional starting address:" unless you have been specified.

"Output debug log file?" - "Output debug log file?" will open a log file. The log file monitors the flash program. This is strictly a tool for checking for errors. This should not be enabled without specific need.

"Full read back checking? (Recommended)" - "Full read back checking? (Recommended)" enables the read back verification of the flash memory after flash memory has been programmed. Flash memory read back and verification is recommended.
