Dry Contact - Configure

Usage:

UPS 250 APZ
The contacts are configured by using the UPS View software package.

User Programmable Remote Input Contacts

Each of the six user programmable remote input contacts has an operating parameter. The operating parameter is used in order to configure that contact.

The following list of functions can be assigned to the remote input contacts by entering the parameter in the operating parameter for the associated remote input. The default function assignment is listed in Table 2.

The User Programmable Remote Input Contacts must close in order to signal the proper function. The User Programmable Remote Input Contacts must have the following characteristics: form 2 normally open and free of voltage.

( 1 ) When the input contactor is set to the On Generator mode, various limits can be set for the following operating parameters: the Detection of Transient Voltages, the Maximum Input Current and the Walk-in Rate.
( 2 ) This feature is functional when there are no errors that are present.
( 3 ) This feature will trigger an output contact for an external alarm.
( 4 ) Silence the alarm. A Notice is active or an Alarm is active.
( 5 ) A "breaker open" message is printed when the input is activated. A "breaker closed" message is printed when the input is deactivated.
( 6 ) A message is printed when the input is activated. A different message is printed when input is deactivated.
( 7 ) This message is defined by the user.

Table 2
Default Function Assignments for the Input Contacts
Contact     Function     Description
1     1     On Generator
2     2     Remote switch of the UPS to Bypass
3     3     Remote switch of the UPS to On-line mode (1)
4     4     Building Alarm 1
5     5     Building Alarm 2
6     6     Building Alarm 3
( 1 ) The switching occurs if there are no errors that are active.

User Programmable Remote Output Contacts

Each of the six user programmable remote output contacts has an operating parameter that is used to configure that contact. The functions that are listed in Table 3 can be assigned to the remote output contacts by entering the parameter in the menu for the operating parameter for the associated remote output. The default function assignment is listed in Table 4.

Each User Programmable Remote Output Contact provides a Form C connection. The contact is rated for 3 amperes.

116     ATS Command (5)
117     Motoring
( 1 ) The flywheel has the programmed percentage of usable energy that is available, and the system is on-line.
( 2 ) The external alarm is activated by programming remote inputs to any of the Building Alarms or the Fire Alarm functions.
( 3 ) The System is in bypass mode due to an overload condition.
( 4 ) This can be used with the Generator Set Start Option.
( 5 ) This is used with the operating parameter for the ATS Command Level.
