R2900 (S/N: BAR; 5TW)

Description of Change: A joystick kit is now available to service the switches in the joystick.

Adaptable To: The 188-2420 Joystick Kit is available to replace any switches in the joystick. The 188-2420 Joystick Kit is adaptable to R1300 (S/N: 6QW1-UP), R1600 (S/N: 9EW1-UP), R1700G (S/N: 8XZ1-UP), S/N:R2900-101 to 170
, and R2900 (S/N: 5TW1-UP) by using the following procedure.

    Note: The pin (2) in Illustration 1 is hidden. Wiring harness (4) is connected to the joystick.

  1. Remove connector (5) from wiring harness (4) .

  1. Remove boot (3) from joystick (1) in order to expose pin (2) .

  1. Drive out pin (2) .

  1. Remove the joystick (1) and the wiring harness (4) .

  1. Remove retaining screw (6) from the joystick.

  1. Carefully remove cover (7) from the joystick.

  1. Remove retaining screw (8) .

    (10) Cover

  1. Remove cover (10) in order to access the switches. Check seal (9) for wear or damage.

  1. Remove retaining screw (11) that holds the switches and the bracket assembly in position.

  1. Mark the cables for identification. Replace each switch (12) one at a time. Attach the new switches by connecting the wires to the normally open terminals.

  1. Install the switches and bracket assembly in position. Install the retaining screw (11) .

  1. Install seal (9). Install cover (10) .

  1. Carefully install cover (7) to the joystick.

  1. Install joystick (1) by installing the wiring harness (4) through the valve body.

  1. Align and install pin (2) .

  1. Install boot (3) over the joystick. Refer to Illustration 13.
