A Relay Improves the Service Life of the Horn {1408, 7402}

Description of Change: The installation of a relay improves the service life of the horn.
Adaptable To: The 3E-5239 Relay Assembly is adaptable to R1600 (S/N: 9EW1-UP) and R1700G (S/N: 8XZ1-UP) by using the following procedure.

Procedure
- Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.
- Remove seven bolts (1). Remove cover (2) .

- Disconnect the wiring harness at connectors (3) and (4) .

- Fasten 3E-5239 Relay Assembly (7) in position with existing bolt (5) .

- Connect 9EP8246 Harness Assembly (8) to the existing harness at connectors (3) and (4). The connectors were disconnected in Step 3.
- Remove existing bolt (6). Install the ground cable into position. Refer to Illustration 3.
- As required, use 1DE0063 Cable Ties in order to secure 9EP8246 Harness Assembly (8) in position.
- Install the cover that was removed in Step 2.
