New extruder assemblies are available for use in the track presses that are used in the shop and for the presses that are mobile. Use the new extruder assemblies to assemble the positive pin retention track. The new extruder assemblies have a wear surface that is replaceable. As the surface of the extruder assembly wears, the surface can be replaced without replacing the entire tool. The former part numbers and the new part numbers are listed in Table 1. See Special Publication, SEBF8546, "Track Shop Servicing for Positive Pin Retention Track" for instructions on the use of the tools.
