Operating guidelines for Industrial Grapple Buckets are provided in order to prevent excessive loading of the cylinders that can result in failure of the cylinders. Insert the following text as a new section on page 87 of the Operation and Maintenance Manual.

Industrial Grapple Bucket Operation

Operate an industrial grapple bucket in an orientation that will prevent impact of the grapple tines with a wall or with another fixed object.

When you drive toward a wall or another fixed object, do not strike the wall with the grapple tines. Orient the bucket so that the cutting edge becomes the initial point of contact with the wall or with the fixed object.
