Relief Valve (Secondary Steering) - Test
Note: Before you perform any tests, refer to the Testing and Adjusting, "Machine Preparation for Troubleshooting" section.

(1) Steering port | |
Note: Turn off the machine. Turn the steering wheel back and forth. Repeat this procedure several times. This procedure will relieve the pressurized hydraulic fluid from the steering accumulator.
- Remove the steering supply line from steering port (1) in the combination valve. Install the 7X-0871 Tee into port (1). Connect the steering supply line to the tee. Connect the 8T-0860 Pressure Gauge (0 to 40,000 kPa (0 to 5,800 psi)) to the tee.
- Turn battery disconnect switch (2) and the engine start switch to the ON position.

- Hold the secondary steering test switch in the TEST position until the reading of the pressure gauge stops rising. The pressure gauge should register 17225 kPa (2498 psi). This is the correct pressure setting for relief valve (3) .

(3) Relief valve | |
- If the pressure reading on relief valve (3) is not 17225 kPa (2498 psi), relief valve (3) must be replaced. Relief valve (3) cannot be adjusted. Turn battery disconnect switch (2) and the engine start switch to the OFF position. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Machine Preparation for Disassembly and Assembly". Replace relief valve (3) .
- Repeat in order to check the new relief valve (3) .
