Operating skid steer loaders in cold weather is made easier with the right cold weather preparations. Caterpillar offers accessories which can improve operator comfort and machine function in cold weather.

Working conditions for the operators can be improved by adding top and side windows to the cab and by adding a door assembly. Once the windows are in place, operator comfort can be increased by adding a cab heater. Refer to Tables 1 and 2 for part numbers.

Adding a fresh battery and a jacket water heater will also improve machine operation. Refer to Table 2 for part numbers.

Refer to Table 3 for installation instructions. The instructions are available from the Service Information System (SIS). The instructions can also be obtained through the normal literature ordering channels.

Note: All of the kits are available from the BCP facility in Clayton, North Carolina. The kits can be ordered by submitting a miscellaneous shipping order form to the BCP facility.
