Description of Change: A new directional control valve is now available for the remote control system. The new directional control valve improves the response of the proportional steering on remote control.
Adaptable To: The 1DE2462 Directional Control Valve replaces the former 1DE2471 Directional Control Valve. The 1DE2462 Directional Control Valve is effective with R2900 (PIN: 5TW327-UP) machines with STIC steering that are equipped with a remote control system. The 1DE2462 Directional Control Valve is adaptable to PIN: R2900-101 to 170
and R2900 (PIN: 5TW1-326) machines with STIC steering that are equipped with a remote control system. Refer to the following procedure in order to adapt earlier machines.

Procedure
- Follow the instructions that are referred to in Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, RENR4703 (9EP7899), "R2900 L.H.D. Remote Control System", "Machine Preparation for Troubleshooting".
- Disconnect the wiring harness from 1DE2741 Directional Control Valve (1) .

- Install four 6V-8397 O-Ring Seals (3) to 1DE2463 Check Valve (7) .

- Install four 6V-8397 O-Ring Seals (3) to 1DE2462 Check Valve (6) .
- Install 1DE2463 Check Valve (7) and 1DE2462 Check Valve (6) to 9EP3198 Manifold (8) by using four 112-9319 Bolts (4) .
- Install four 1DE2693 Plastic Caps (5) over 112-9319 Bolts (4) .
- Connect the wiring harness to 1DE2462 Directional Control Valve (6) .
- Test and adjust the proportional steering. Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, RENR4703 (9EP7899), "R2900 L.H.D. Remote Control System", "General Information".
