Boom Switch TH62, TH63, TH82 and TH83 Machines (1) Actuator plate. (2) Switch lever. |
This type of boom switch is operated mechanically and the switch is installed on all machines except the TH103 machines. The switch is located to the right side of number one boom section.
The switch has a rotary action and the switch is activated by an actuator plate (1) which is attached to number two boom section. The actuator plate operates the boom switch by contacting switch levers (2) when the boom is extended or retracted past a certain point.

Boom Switch for TH103 Machines |
The TH103 machines use two electrical proximity switches. The first proximity switch is mounted on the rear left side of the boom, near to the boom pivot point on the frame. The second proximity switch is mounted on the rear left side of the boom, near to the back of the operators compartment.
This type of switch has no external moving parts and the switch contacts are normally closed. A plate is welded to number two boom section which passes each switch when the boom is extended or retracted. When the plate is in alignment with a boom switch a magnet inside the boom switch moves toward the plate and this opens the switch contacts. When the plate moves away from the switch the contacts of the switch close via spring force.
