Start By:
- Remove service brakes. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Service Brake - Remove and Install".
- Remove the differential pinion. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Differential Pinion - Remove".
- Install a suitable lifting device, as shown.
- Remove bolts (1) from intermediate housing (2).
- Remove intermediate housing (2) from axle center housing (3). The weight of the intermediate housing is approximately
66 kg (145 lb) .Show/hide table

- Install Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to differential and bevel gear (5).
- Remove differential and bevel gear (5) from axle center housing (3). The weight of the differential and bevel gear is approximately
136 kg (300 lb) .
