CID 0295 FMI 09 Unable to Communicate with LHEX ECM

Conditions Which Generate This Code:

The Electronic Control Module (ECM) detects all of the following conditions:

  • The engine is not cranking.

  • Battery voltage is greater than 19 VDC for the last five seconds.

  • Communication stops for 0.4 seconds after successful communication has been established with the machine ECM.

System Response:

The ECM will log the diagnostic code. The diagnostic code may be viewed on a display module or on the Caterpillar Electronic Technician (Cat ET). The check engine lamp will illuminate. All features that depend on the Cat Data Link will be disabled.

  • None

Test Step 1. Perform the following test: CAT Data Link Circuit - Test

Results:

  • OK - Stop.
