Holding Arm - Remove

Usage:

HH45 2JZ

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Prepare the machine for disassembly. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Preparation for Disassembly".

Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

Note: The HH45, HH55, and HH65 Harvester Heads are equipped with one holding arm. The HH75 Harvester Head is equipped with two holding arms. This procedure covers removal of one holding arm. Removal of the second holding arm on the HH75 is similar.

Note: The HH65 Harvester Head is shown in this procedure. Other harvester heads are similar.

  1. The harvester head frame should be in the vertical position. The harvester head should be placed on wood blocks or other appropriate supports. There must be 150 mm (5.9 inch) clearance under the harvester head. This clearance allows removal of the pivot pin for the holding arm.

  1. Loosen the set screw on nut (5). Remove nut (5) .

  1. Remove pivot pin (4). Remove bearing (6) from the top of holding arm (3) .

  1. Lift holding arm (3) off the harvester head. The holding arm weighs 13.6 kg (30 lb).

  1. Remove bearing (10) from the harvester head.

  1. Press bushing (7) and bushing (9) out of holding arm (3) .

  1. Remove grease fitting (8) from holding arm (3) .

Note: Clean all parts. Check the condition of all components. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacements.
