Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

  1. Install spring (30) on shaft assembly (28) .

  1. Raise the temperature of bearings (34) to 135 °C (275 °F) for thirty minutes. Install bearings (34) on shaft (28) .

  1. Use Tooling (A) to install seal (35) in body (26) .

  1. Install key (33) on shaft assembly (28) .

  1. Install cam (32) on shaft assembly (28) .

  1. Use Tooling (B) to install retaining ring (31) on shaft assembly (28) .

  1. Install shaft assembly (28) in body (26) .

  1. Ensure that both tangs (29) on spring (30) are in the original location in grooves of pin inside body (26) .

  1. Install O-ring seal (27) on body (26) .

  1. Install body (7) on body (26). Secure using three bolts (25) .

    Note: Do not reuse retaining ring (17) .

  1. Install spring (20) and retainer (19) on stem (18). Secure using retaining ring (17) .

  1. Install O-ring seal (23) on plunger (24). Install the plunger in plug (12) .

  1. Install nut (21) on plunger (24) and against plug (12) .

  1. Install O-ring seal (22) on plug (12) .

  1. Install the plug and the O-ring seal on sleeve (13) .

  1. Install spring (16), valve group (15), slug (14), sleeve (13), and plug assembly (12) in body (9) .

  1. Install three O-ring seals (11) in body (9) .

  1. Position plunger (10) in body (7). Install body (9) on body (7) .

  1. Use two bolts (8) to secure body (9) to body (7) .

    Note: Spool (6) must fit freely over the male spline on shaft assembly (28) .

    Note: Spool (6) must be oriented correctly. The 3.5 mm (0.14 inch) hole and the 4.0 mm (0.16 inch) hole aligns. Install spool (6) in body (7) .

  1. Install spool (6) on shaft (28). Align the timing marks. The 3.5 mm (0.14 inch) hole and the 4.0 mm (0.16 inch) hole aligns. Install spool (6) in body (7) .

  1. Install ring (4) and O-ring seal (5) on body (7) .

  1. Install cover (2) and O-ring seal (3) on body (7). Install two bolts (1) .

End By: Install the steering control. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Control - Install" for the machine that is being serviced.
