Schematic Of The Gear Shift Switch

Gear Shift switch failure could give fault codes F102 thru F109 and/or cause the engine not to start. A loose connector C012, making a poor connection can also cause these faults. A Clutch switch with a broken or weak return spring can also not allow the engine to start.

  1. Check connectors C011 (J2), C012 and C080 for damage, faulty connections or faulty terminals. Are the connectors damaged?

    • YES, repair or replace damaged connector, operate machine, and check fault codes. If machine operates and no fault codes are present, the repair is complete.

    • NO, go to Step 2.

  1. Check the following fuses for continuity; Key Start fuse (F26) and the Right Hand Console fuse (F21). Is a fuse open circuit?

    • YES, replace fuse, operate machine, and check fault codes. If machine operates and no fault codes are present, the repair is complete. If new fuse fails check for short circuit.

    • NO, go to Step 3.

  1. Check wiring for continuity per schematic. Is there continuity?

    • YES, replace Gear Switch. Operate machine and if no fault codes are present, the repair is complete. If this does not fix the problem check the Key Start switch, Clutch switch, Transmission Interrupt relay and Start relay for proper operation. Replace if necessary. Operate the machine and if no fault codes are present, the repair is complete.

    • NO, repair or replace open wiring. Operate machine, and check fault codes. If machine operates and no fault codes are present, the repair is complete.
