Field Installation of 162-8154 Fork Tine {6705} Caterpillar

Introduction

This Special Instruction provides the necessary information in order to assemble the fork tines on a grapple fork.

Caterpillar designs the Industrial Grapple Forks to easily handle bulky and loose objects. Industrial Grapple Forks work in demolition, industrial, construction, and recycling applications. Industrial Grapple Forks incorporate a series of piercing Fork Tines for piercing paper, cardboard, scrap wood, light gauge scrap metal, and irregular shaped objects.

The information in this instruction should be read and understood before proceeding with any modifications.

Fork Tine Installation

1. Install the 162-8154 Fork Tine (1) into the opening (A). Align pin holes.

2. Hammer the 3E-4370 Spring Pin (2) into position.

3. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 for each Fork Tine.
