Assembly Procedure

Note: Inspect the O-ring seals. Replace any O-ring seals that are worn or damaged.

Note: When the O-ring seals are installed, lubricate the O-ring seals with the fluid that is being sealed.

1. Install spring (13).

2. Install valve (14).

3. Install O-ring seal (15).

4. Install bypass switch (10).

5. Install O-ring seal (9).

6. Install spring (7).

7. Install retainer (6).

8. Install O-ring seal (4) and plug (1).

9. Use Tool (A) to install retaining ring (8).

10. Install screen assembly (5) (not shown).

11. Install housing (2) to base (3).

    Note: Use the torque that is necessary to bottom housing (2) on base (3). Do not use an air wrench.

End By:

1. Install the torque converter outlet screen. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Torque Converter Outlet Screen - Remove and Install".
