  1. The weights that are listed in Table 1 and the instructions that are listed below describe the units that are manufactured by Caterpillar Inc.

  1. The parking brake must be engaged before you sling the machine. Engage the parking brake before you secure the machine with tie-downs.

  1. Use properly rated cables and properly rated slings for lifting. Position the crane for a level machine lift. Position the slings beneath the front of the track and the rear of the track. On corners that are sharp, use corner protectors.

  1. The spreader bars should be wide enough to prevent contact with the machine.

  1. Tie-down positions

    • Use the eye of the towing device for the front tie-down.

    • Use the inside edge of the track shoe for the side tie-down.

    • Use the outside edge of the track shoe for the rear tie-down.
