Installation Guide for Operator Platform and Operator Access Ladder{7253, 7254}

Introduction

The following items require assembly: platform extension, hand rails and operator access ladder. Assembly by the dealer reduces the expense of shipping the machine. Assembly by the dealer also reduces the possibility of damage during transportation. Follow these instructions in order to assemble the operator platform and the operator access ladder. This will minimize the expense of delivery. An assistant is required during several stages of assembly.

Removals and Preparations

    Note: The components for the extension are shipped in the grain tank.

    (1) Shipping locks

  1. Remove shipping locks (1) from the grain tank extensions.

  1. Remove shipping lock (2) from the platform in front of door (3). Then, open the door.

  1. Remove access panel (4) .

    Note: Check the components in the grain tank in order to ensure that the grain tank can be opened without being obstructed.

  1. Connect the wires in the grain tank to the electric lift motor.

    (5) Rocker switch

  1. Start the engine. Press the top of rocker switch (5) in order to raise the extensions. Hold the top of rocker switch (5) until the extensions are fully raised.

  1. Stop the engine.

    ------ WARNING! ------

    Do not enter grain tank when engine is running.

    ----------------------

  1. Enter the grain tank. The assistant should be on the walkway above the engine.

  1. Pass the components and the packing materials to the assistant.

  1. Make sure that all the components are out of the grain tank. Check under the cross augers.

  1. Exit the grain tank. Install access panel (4) .

  1. Safely move the components and the packing material to the ground.

  1. Ensure that you have the correct parts for the appropriate machine configuration. For the appropriate machine configurations, refer to the following illustrations: Illustration 1, Illustration 2 and Illustration 3.

    Note: Some parts will be shipped in the compartment for the machine tool box.

    Note: On a machine that is equipped with dual wheels, it is easier to install the platform before you install the dual wheels.

  1. Remove the four bolts that connect turntable (6) to the platform.

    Note: Do not rotate ladder (7) when the ladder is in the shipping location. This will damage the shields.

  1. Remove ladder (7) and the turntable.

    (8) End piece

  1. Remove the five M8 bolts that connect end piece (8) to the platform.

  1. Remove the six M10 bolts that connect slide rails (10) of end piece (8) to the slide rails of the platform.

  1. Unplug amber lamp (9) .

    (11) Extensions for the slide rails

  1. Install extensions (11) for the slide rails.

    1. The bottom cover plate is installed with the extensions.

    1. Slide extensions (11) inward until the holes are aligned.

  1. Install the platform floorplates onto the extensions. Install the floorplates for the applicable tire option on your machine.

    1. Begin with the floorplate that is closest to the machine.

    1. Each floorplate will overlap the top and the sides of the previous floorplate.

    1. Loosely install M8 bolts into all the holes.

    (8) End piece

  1. Install end piece (8) .

  1. Tighten all the bolts.

  1. Use the extension wire to connect amber lamp (9) .

  1. Install the hand rails onto the platform for the applicable tire option on your machine.

      Note: Level the platform. Then, tighten the bolts. The platform must be level in order to ensure that the proper clearance is achieved for the tire.

    1. Tighten all the bolts.

  1. Make sure that the platform is level.

    1. If the platform is not level, loosen the bolts on the platform and adjust the platform.

  1. Install the support arm onto the rear hand rail.

  1. Drill the holes into the central electric unit.

    1. Open the door to the central electric unit.

    1. Drill the holes through the support arm into the central electric unit.

      Note: Make sure that no metal chips fall into the electrical system.

    1. Insert the M8 bolts into the holes from the outside of the central electric unit.

    1. Use silicone sealant to seal the holes. This ensures that water and dust will not get into the central electric unit.

  1. Install the ladder with the turntable onto the end piece of the platform.

  1. Install the rubber door stop.

  1. Install the safety chains onto the hand rails.

  1. Install the bottom step.
