Winch Control Valve - Disassemble

Start By:

  1. Remove the winch control valve.


    NOTICE

    Clean the control valve before disassembly. Disassemble the control valve on a clean surface. Keep all of the parts clean in order to prevent damage to the components on the control valve.



    NOTICE

    Put identification marks on all of the components of the control valve as each one is removed. All of the parts must be reinstalled in the original location. Do not damage any of the internal parts during removal. A damaged valve component will result in oil leakage and affect valve performance.

  1. Remove three bolts (1) and remove control valve lever assembly (2) from the winch control valve.

  1. Remove end (5) from each of the two valve spools.

  1. Remove two bolts (4) and remove housing (3) from the winch control valve. Remove the two O-ring seals that are located between housing (3) and the winch control valve.

  1. Remove stop (6), shims (7), spring (8) and valve (9) from valve body (10). Keep shims (7) with valve (9) .

  1. Remove the O-ring seal from stop (6) .

  1. Remove stop (11), spring (12), shims (13) and valve (14) from valve body (10). Keep shims (13) with valve (14) .

  1. Remove O-ring seal (15) from stop (11) .

  1. Remove plug (19) and springs (17) and (18) from valve body (10). Remove O-ring seal (16) from plug (19) .

  1. Remove plug (20) and piston (21) from valve body (10). Remove O-ring seal (22) from plug (20) .

  1. Remove tube assembly (23) .

  1. Remove cover (24) from valve body (10) .

  1. Remove O-ring seals (25) from cover (24) .

  1. Put identification for the location of each valve spool in valve body (10). Remove direction control valve spool (26) and speed control valve spool (27) from valve body (10) .

  1. Remove bolt (28), washer (29), stop (30), spring (31) and stop (32) from valve spool (26) in order to remove the spring centering mechanism.

  1. Remove bolt (33), washer (34), stop (35), spring (36) and stop (37) from valve spool (27) in order to remove the spring centering mechanism.

  1. Remove relief valve (38) from valve body (10) .

  1. Remove O-ring seal (39) from relief valve (38) .

  1. Use Tool (A) to remove snap ring (40). Remove stop (41), spring (42), shims (43) and valve (44) from relief valve (38). Keep shims (43) with valve (44) .

  1. Remove stop (45), spring (46) and valve (47) from valve body (10). Remove O-ring seal (48) from stop (45) .

  1. Remove stop (49), spring (50) and valve (51) from valve body (10). Remove O-ring seal (52) from stop (49) .

  1. Remove check valve (53) from valve body (10) .

  1. Remove O-ring seal (54) from check valve (53) .

  1. Drive pin (55) from check valve (53). Remove the ball check valve.

  1. Remove lip seals (56) from valve body (10) .
