Counterweight Control Valve - Assemble

Assembly Procedure

NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

NOTICE

Apply a film of 30W oil to all components at assembly. All of the parts must be reinstalled in the original location. Carefully fit the parts together, use no force.

Note: Check all O-ring seals for wear or damage. Use new replacement parts, if necessary.

Install O-ring seal (42) and backup ring (41) on piston (40) .

Install plunger (43) in piston (40). Install the piston in sleeve (39) .

Install O-ring seal (38) on relief valve housing (24). Install sleeve (39) in the relief valve housing.

Install O-ring seal (34), backup washer (35), and O-ring seal (36) on valve body (37) .

Install spring (33) in relief valve housing (24) .

Install valve body assembly (37) on relief valve housing (24) .

Install O-ring seal (29) and locknut (30) on relief valve housing (24) .

Install O-ring seal (31) and cap (32) on relief valve housing (24) .

Install O-ring seals (28) on plugs (26). Install the plugs in manifold (25) .

Install O-ring seal (27) in manifold (25) .

Install pressure relief valve assembly (24) in manifold (25) .

Install O-ring seal (22) and seal (23) on valve spool (19) .

Install plate (21) and screws (20) on control valve body (3) .

Install seal (18) and O-ring seal (17) on valve spool (19) .

Install spool (19), plate (12), retainer (16), spring (13), retainer (15), and screw (14) in valve body (3) .

Install cap (10) and bolts (11) on valve body (3) .

Install valve (9), spring (8), and O-ring seal (7) on control valve body (3) .

Install body (4) on control valve body (3) .

Install rod (5) in the valve. Install nuts (2) on the rod.

Install studs (6) in the valve. Install nuts (1) on the studs.

Refer to Hydraulic System Testing And Adjusting, SENR4718, "Counterweight Relief Valve Pressure Tests" for the proper adjustment procedure.

End By: Install the counterweight control valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Counterweight Control Valve - Remove and Install " for the machine that is being serviced.
