Cable - Remove and Install

Usage:

583R 2XS

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the lower sheave block. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Sheave Block (Lower) - Remove".

------ WARNING! ------

Do not use a wire rope cable that is kinked, frayed or has worn spots.

Wear gloves when handling the wire rope cable.

  1. Unwind the load cable.

  1. Remove two bolts (1) and clamp (4). Remove wire rope cable anchor (2) from the drum. Remove cable (3) .

Installation Procedure

------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury or death can result from worn wire rope cable.

Worn or frayed cable could break causing injury.

Check the wire rope cable. If cable is worn or is frayed install a new cable.

Note: The cable winds over the top of the drum.

  1. Install wire rope cable anchor (2) in the drum. Install clamp (4) and two bolts (1) in order to secure cable (3) to the drum.

    Note: The cable should wind onto the drum smoothly.

  1. Wind half of the cable on the drum.

End By: Install the lower sheave block. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Sheave Block (Lower) - Remove".
